Since my last update in December, the EarthBucks blockchain has continued running and miners have continued mining. Thank you to everyone who keeps the blockchain alive! I want to share what I’ve been working on and how it all ties together.
TermSurf is a terminal emulator with a built-in web
browser. The idea is simple: developers live in the terminal, but constantly
context-switch to the browser. TermSurf eliminates that by embedding a full
Chromium browser right inside the terminal. Type web google.com and a browser
pane opens alongside your terminal panes.
TermSurf is designed to be the ultimate power user tool. If you’re comfortable with a terminal, TermSurf gives you everything you need to do your work without ever leaving it. It has vim-style modes, DevTools in split panes, and zero-copy GPU rendering at 60fps. It’s a working prototype today on macOS, and the protocol-first design means it will support multiple terminal emulators and browser engines over time.
Once a web browser is integrated into the terminal, developers will hardly have a reason to use any other app.
One thing both browsers and terminals need is a password manager. KeyPears is a decentralized, federated, end-to-end encrypted password manager designed to be integrated into both simultaneously.
KeyPears works like email. You have an address (e.g., alice@keypears.com) and
can securely share secrets with anyone on any KeyPears-compatible server using
Diffie-Hellman key exchange. The server never sees your plaintext passwords or
keys. It’s open source and self-hostable.
KeyPears will be integrated into TermSurf, giving users a unified password manager across their terminal and browser workflows. No more juggling a separate password manager app.
Because KeyPears already securely manages cryptographic keys, it’s a natural foundation for a cryptocurrency wallet. Key management has always been the biggest user experience pain point in cryptocurrency. KeyPears solves that problem directly.
KeyPears will become an EarthBucks wallet and will also support other cryptocurrencies. If you can securely hold passwords, you can securely hold cryptocurrency keys. The same infrastructure, the same interface, the same security model.
Here is the near-term plan:
These projects are all being built with an enormous amount of help from AI, and the tools keep getting better. I’m confident this roadmap is achievable.
Thank you to all the miners and users who continue to support EarthBucks. The blockchain keeps running because of you, and the best is yet to come.
