Since reaching the EarthBucks 1.0 milestone, I’ve realized the app is remarkably stable, and I don’t immediately need to fix anything or improve anything with EarthBucks right now. It is possible to mine EarthBucks and send and receive EarthBucks, and there is a way to trade, so the economy is already being bootstrapped.
So I’ve decided to switch gears and build an AI app that I’ve been wanting to build.
I’m not yet ready to announce what this new AI app is, but I thought it would be worth taking a moment to explain how EarthBucks is related to AI. With the release of Manus, a fully autonomous AI agent that basically gets access to a virtual computer that allows it to do anything, we are very close to a totally limitless AI. However, the missing piece is money. That piece is filled, obviously, by cryptocurrency.
There are two ways EarthBucks (and a handful of other cryptocurrencies) mesh well with AI:
My next AI app will not have fully autonomous agents, but it will have the foundation to make this possible. I’m probably about half finished building the new app, so I will announce it as soon as it is ready, which will probably be before the end of March.
After this AI app, I also plan to build a wallet for Bitcoin Cash, as well as resume work on the EarthBucks protocol to iterate towards EarthBucks 2.0.
