The First Trade of EarthBucks Has Occurred at a Price of 1.00 USD per EBX

2024-12-31 · Ryan X. Charles

Today I’m happy to announce that the first trade of EarthBucks (EBX) has occurred at a price of 1.00 USD per EBX in exchange for Bitcoin Cash (BCH). The trade itself occurred on December 21, 2024. The BCH has been transferred, but the EBX has not yet been transferred because the wallet has not launched yet. The wallet will be finished imminently and I expect the EBX to be transferred as early as today.

The amount has not been announced publicly, but I can confirm it was greater than $1000.00, and so it represents a meaningful first trade.

Comparison to Bitcoin

EarthBucks is heavily influenced by Bitcoin, as you can see from the very first blog post, so a comparison to the early days of Bitcoin seems appropriate.

Bitcoin was launched in January of 2009. The famous trade of 10,000 BTC for 2 pizzas occurred on May 18, 2010, more than a year after the launch of Bitcoin. Subsequently, trading started, and the Mt. Gox exchange was launched. By February of 2011, Bitcoin had achieved a price of $1.00 for the first time. So, in total, it took just over 2 years for Bitcoin to achieve a price of $1.00.

For EarthBucks, which launched on November 4, 2024, it has taken less than 2 months to achieve a price of $1.00. This increased rate of adoption is made possible by the fact that Bitcoin, and the entire cryptocurrency industry, has already charted this territory, and made a far larger market for digital currency than in the early days of Bitcoin.

There are twice as many EBX as BTC, so at a price of $1.00 per EBX, EarthBucks can be thought of as half the size of Bitcoin at $1.00 per BTC.

Comparison to Cryptocurrency

The cryptocurrency industry emerged around Bitcoin, and new coins such as Litecoin and Ethereum and many others were created, which achieved higher and higher prices earlier and earlier. Today, there are approximately 100 cryptocurrencies listed on CoinMarketCap that have a market capitalization of over $1 billion.

A price of $1.00 per EBX gives a long-term market capitalization of $42 million, given that there are a maximum of 42 million EBX. However, at this time, not all EBX have been distributed. There are just over 6000 blocks with 100 EBX per block, which implies a market capitalization of just over $600,000 at the existing supply. EarthBucks can thus be seen as a very small cryptocurrency at the very beginning of its life. We have a lot of growth to go through to reach the scale of the top cryptocurrencies.

More Trades to Come

The wallet for EarthBucks is working in development, but the UI is not yet finished. I will launch the wallet as soon as the UI is finished, which will be as early as today. Several users have expressed an interest in purchasing EBX at a price of $1.00 or higher, so I expect some trading to begin as soon as the wallet is launched.

A Place to Trade

I am creating my own exchange, EBXOTC, which will be tightly integrated into the first mine at earthbucks.com and all other EarthBucks apps I create. The exchange is not yet finished, but you can find a link to a Telegram group where you can find others to trade with on the web page.

Enforcing the Minimum Price of 1.00 USD per EBX

Please note that I have decided to mandate that all trades of EarthBucks using any of my platforms or chat channels, or even any third party tools such as exchanges or chat groups, must occur at a price of $1.00 or higher, or you risk being banned from the service. This is to prevent treating EarthBucks like a penny stock or a pump-and-dump scam.

Please do not make me ban you.

Please do not attempt to trade EBX at a price less than $1.00 per EBX.

If you do not value EBX for at least $1.00, then please leave the ecosystem for now and come back when you do.

Conclusion

The first trade of EarthBucks (EBX) has occurred at a price of $1.00 per EBX on December 21, 2024 for Bitcoin Cash (BCH). The value of the trade was more than $1000.00. The wallet is launching soon, and I expect more trades to occur as soon as the wallet is launched. You can find people to trade with on EBXOTC.
